Airbnb has opened up a whole new world for travelers. My first experience booking an Airbnb was in the Latin Quarter of Paris of all places. I could have booked a fancy hotel, but living in an apartment for a week, listening to the chatter of diners at the restaurant tables below while a ton (a ton!) of cigarette smoke rose up to my balcony gave me a vastly different experience of being in the city.
